"Eyes of a Stranger"

Monday, May 26 2003, 12:23 AM

I just bought some new CDs today, Rage for Order and Operation: Mindcrime by Queensryche, and Awake and Falling Into Infinity by Dream Theater. I was familiar with the Dream Theater CDs, but I was kinda going on a limb with the Queensryche. I knew they were good, but how good was in doubt. Well, I dig the albums a lot. Mindcrime has one song that's been on repeat all friggin day - Eyes of a Stranger. I'm not sure why I like it so much, but it's definitely sweet in my book... It's got a real big sound, multiple guitar lines going at once, with a big presence from the rhythm section. Good Stuff.

Yeah, queensryche rules. So does dream theater. 'nuff said.

Actually, one more thing. Have you seen the metallica's Icon thing on mtv? wow. Notice the new bassist for metallica is the Indian dude who played wiht Ozzy a few years ago? I don't know his name... but with respect to his heritage I'm going to call him "Runs with Over the Hill Bands"*. They never even mentioned his name once on the whole show. He just stood there lookin like "yeah. I was filling in for where Geezer butler was, and now i'm fillin in for Mr. Jason Newsted! I'm gettin better and better at this!"

* I really have no problem with Native Americans, I just like to be funny. Direct your hate mail at Mr. Mike.
